Spring is here. Things are fresh and new, exciting and unpredictable. One moment you have the sun, the next moment a thunderstorm rolls through. These thunderstorms are always so inspiring. They make the hairs on my arms stand up (once a thunderstorm literally made the hair on my head stand up!). They roll in, completely unexpected, they make me weak in the knees, they leave me completely exhausted. They remind me of falling in love -- only love lasts longer. If you're lucky.
I was blessed with a trip to the Southwest recently. The fiery furnace color of the land against the back drop of the bluest sky was such a contradiction. It was hot and cold, it was bright and dark, the sun burst on the rocks and reflected the story of the land. Arches were carved by a millennia of wind and weather and water. I felt so insignificant against the enormity of the land. But at the same time (another contradiction) I felt like I was a part of something bigger. I was in on an age-old secret. My ancestors whispered through my bones.....
Today I am going to try to keep that connection to the land. Earth and nature will live in me. Wow, as if purposefully sent, thunder just rolled through... How inspiring!
